talons

here's some more original poetry...expect more very soon

i almost considered the stopping the enjoying of the mundane things
that's the poison you helped me devour
i almost became one of a pair
instead of remaining one of a kind
that's how far your talons have dug into me
i believe that any kind of cancer
is something that you're born with
and until someone or something shows you
the way to find it and cultivate it
it wakes up and destroys you
when someone i love knows the way
to all of that devastating destruction
i try my best to ignore the inadvertant teacher
but stick around for a bit to learn the antidote
my only wish is to make them learn
how to forget to get there
or at least pretend
