jack nasty

i finally saw 'brokeback mountain'! i was kinda boycotting it because of all the controversy surrounding it as 'the gay movie', 'the gay cowboy movie", etc. i definitely was happy a movie like it was made and promoted so broadly but i wasn't giving into the marketing.
after watching it i must say i'm glad i waited. i was able to enjoy the parts i enjoyed in the comfort of my own bedroom and i was able to analyze it all alone without any other outside interference. jake was amazing but heath didn't quite do it for me. maybe it's because i could relate to jake's character more and have been in his position (not bottom) and have been in love with people like ennis. i also think the story was too fast. there wasn't enough build up to them getting it on. i didn't hate the movie but i only found myself loving the parts that were obviously homoerotic. the ending surprised me i must admit and it was the only time i actually sided with heath ledger/ ennis. the time frame the movie took place in was also interesting...it all happened in a place and time before and during the stonewall riots which explained a lot. a friend of mine dj andrew had made a remix of madonna's 'forbidden love' with bits and pieces of the movie spliced within...(the "once upon a time there was a boy...there was a boy.." part was my idea)

take a listen
madonna - forbidden love (brokeback jack mix)
